Building a family house is one of the biggest, if not the largest investment for most families, which is why there is significant fear around selecting a contractor due to many negative experiences. The first phase completed was the precise survey of the project (quantities of materials, exact definition of work processes), the budget, followed by the tendering of suppliers. After selecting the appropriate suppliers and teams for the different work processes, the first construction process, the earthwork, commenced. During the project, we moved more than 700 cubic meters of earth. After the completion of the reinforced concrete basement walls, the next critical point of the project was the waterproofing of the concrete slabs and walls. Proper waterproofing is extremely important for a building with a basement, because a little extra attention during construction can save the client from subsequent damages that could amount to thousands of lei. The building's reinforced concrete structure also posed challenges due to the high beams, brackets, and slab jumps. When working on the roof structure, special attention was paid to choosing the correct vapor barrier and breathable membranes, and precise fixing of the timber structure. The design of the eaves was made according to the client's requirements with insulation-concealed gutters and downspouts, and unique sheet metal elements.
